Autumn, But Make It Sassy: A 24ft Floral Takeover at Francine Boutique, Horwich

If you’ve driven down Church Street in Horwich this week, you might have done a double-take. That’s my latest install for the gorgeous girls at Francine Boutique — and yes, it’s a full 24 feet of autumn with a bit of sass.

When Francine asked me for something that would stop traffic but still feel like them, I knew we couldn’t do your standard orange-and-brown autumn. Francine is colour, personality, confidence. So we did autumn the Blooming Proper way.

The Brief: Autumn Colours, But Not Boring

We went lush, full, and unapologetically extra. Think:

• Burnt orange and tangerine trailing ivy for that proper autumn drape
• Deep plum, burgundy and magenta dahlias for depth and drama
• Dusty pink and peach dahlias to keep it soft and boutique-beautiful
• Pops of lime green ferns and variegated foliage to make it all pop against that cream render

It’s all artificial, so it will stay perfect right through to winter — no watering, no wilting, no sad leaves by November. Just 24ft of non-stop kerb appeal.

Why a Shopfront Garland Works

A display like this does three things instantly:

1. It stops people. On a grey day (we know Horwich weather!), that blast of colour makes people look up and cross the road.

2. It frames the brand. Francine’s windows are chic and minimal — the garland adds that luxury boutique feel before you’ve even stepped inside.

3. It’s smart business. No maintenance, fully weatherproof, and reusable year after year. You invest once and get months of impact.

The install itself was a full gutter-line design, fitted securely to follow the whole frontage — door, windows, the lot. It dips and trails just enough to feel wild and abundant, not stiff.
